Castillo de Santa Catalina, built by Felipe II, is a remarkable work of military engineering of the 16th century. This polygonal building inspired many castles built in America years later. Nowadays the castle is served as a museum, after being used as a prison in previous years. Santa Catalina castle has been used to recreate Havanna as location in some movies.
